The house

This south-facing house is situated in a unique location overlooking the valley and the natural northern edge of the Vézère Valley. The Vézère flows into the Dordogne. The surrounding area exudes rural charm. Not far from here are several lovely viewpoints, villages and towns, read more..

Maison La Chapelle Bellevue comprises what was once a traditional detached house with two outbuildings, the old local sawmill, an old woodworking workshop and living quarters, situated on a plot of 1 hectare. Adjacent to this lies 2 hectares of agricultural land which has gradually developed into a natural woodland. The house and its terrace face south. Beyond lie the meadows of local farmers and a small river. As far as vegetation allows, you are welcome to walk through the land, play there or gather wood for the outdoor fire pit. The garden features redcurrants, blackberries, figs, red and white grapes, peach, pear, cherry and apple trees, whilst the land is home to many wild mirabelle plums and plum trees. You are free to pick the ripe fruit. Please note that there are also berry bushes that may not be edible.

In 2026, in addition to maintenance and further painting work on the porch, the floor beneath the master bedroom and the living room was insulated; the main bed was fitted with an Emma Pro topper mattress and bed raised by 18 cm for comfortable access. A large new terrace step was added.
